Man Shot, Killed in East Harlem Apartment Building

According to an update from the NYPD Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Public Information (DCPI), officers responded to a 911 report stating a person was shot inside 230 E 102nd St at around 2:38 a.m. Once at the scene, police found a 37-year-old man with a gunshot wound to his chest and head, situated on the fourth-floor hallway of the building, unconscious and unresponsive. Medics then transported the victim to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. No arrests were made and the investigation is ongoing.
Police advised the victim sustained life-threatening injuries after he was shot in the chest.
Officers requested all available units to the scene to aid in the investigation. Police have not reported the severity of the victim's wounds and have not reported any suspect description.
Police at the scene located a man who was shot. Officers advised EMS was at the scene.
Officers at the scene requested additional police units to the incident.
