A man was fatally shot in Garfield Park Wednesday night, officials said.
At around 4:15 p.m., police responded to a report of a shooting in the 200 block of N. Pulaski Road.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a man who had been shot.
Medics responded and took the man to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
According to the CPD, the man was inside L & J Food Liquor Inc when an unknown gunman approached him and opened fire, striking him several times.
Homicide detectives are investigating.
