At around 9:30 p.m., police responded to a report of a shooting at the corner of Park Avenue and E 158th Street.
Upon arrival, officers discovered an unconscious 38-year-old man laying in the hallway of an apartment building. Further investigation showed the man had sustained a gunshot wound to the chest.
Medics responded and took the man to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
According to the NYPD, the man was a resident of the building.
