My husband tried to save her life, he was steps away when it happened. Held her hand until she went into shock. He saw the semi truck struck her, she fell Off the bike and under the truck and driver kept moving crushing her 🙏🏻
@Alewis283 thank your husband so much for trying, we will miss her
The bicyclist was going the wrong way on a one-way street. I drive in New York almost every day and it is terrifying to me that people on bikes don't obey the traffic laws I am so sorry this person died but we all have to be on guard
@Val3 not really. That’s like saying “all snowboarders are reckless.” Why are there not more protected bike lanes? That’s the real question. The city is sunk if it can’t grow, and there is no more room for cars. 6x more people can move down a city street on bike than by cars or bus alone. Look at the success of cycle infrastructure in London, Paris, Tokyo… then look at NYC. We are like a time warp and very backward looking
Cyclists need to be more careful. I see so many running red lights. Going opposite way. No helmet. Going fast. Last week a guy on his scooter, slammed into the back of a suv. Suv was doing an illegal Uturn. Both were wrong. Luckily he had a helmut & the ambulance came quickly.
Bicyclist 🚴♀️ do it constantly the automatically assume the vehicle sees them and will stop! I check my mirrors constantly. They pop up quickly that's why I drive slowly especially in heavy bike areas
