- At around 8:40 a.m. on Friday, a 62-year-old man was on a southbound (7) train when a man approached him and brandished a knife.
- NYPD officials said the suspect slashed the 62-year-old in the face and hand before fleeing the train at Queensboro Plaza.
- EMS personnel transported the victim to an area hospital in stable condition.
- At 7:15 a.m. on Saturday, a 55-year-old man was on a northbound (7) train platform at the 74th Street-Broadway station when a suspect armed with a knife approached him and stabbed him in the neck, officials said.
- The suspect fled the station.
- EMS personnel transported the victim to the hospital in critical but stable condition.
- Police recovered the knife from the scene.
- NYPD officials said both attacks were “unprovoked” and perpetuated by the same suspect. 32-year-old Donny Ubiera.
- On Saturday at 8:54 p.m., police located and arrested Ubiera.
- He was charged with two counts of attempted murder, two counts of assault, and two counts of criminal possession of a weapon.
