Summary

A man was arrested and charged after he allegedly slashed two men in separate, unprovoked attacks on a (7) train in Long Island City Friday and a subway platform in Elmhurst Saturday, police say.

At around 8:40 a.m. on Friday, a 62-year-old man was on a southbound (7) train when a man approached him and brandished a knife.

NYPD officials said the suspect slashed the 62-year-old in the face and hand before fleeing the train at Queensboro Plaza.

EMS personnel transported the victim to an area hospital in stable condition.

At 7:15 a.m. on Saturday, a 55-year-old man was on a northbound (7) train platform at the 74th Street-Broadway station when a suspect armed with a knife approached him and stabbed him in the neck, officials said.
