Summary
- Police arrested and charged a suspect in Friday's shooting near a South Bronx high school that left one teenager dead and two others wounded, officials said.
- At around 1:45 p.m., police responded to a report of a shooting near the corner of E 156th Street and St. Anne's Avenue.
- Upon arrival, officers discovered three teenagers who had been shot.
- One of the victims, a 16-year-old girl, had been shot in the chest and was pronounced deceased after she was taken to the hospital.
- The two remaining victims, a 16-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy, had been shot in the shin and upper leg respectively. They were taken by EMS to an area hospital where they were listed in stable condition.
- According to a briefing from NYPD Chief Timothy McCormick, surveillance footage showed the shooter gesturing towards another person at the intersection before pulling out a gun and firing at them.
- The three victims were then struck by wayward gunfire as they were walking home.
- Just before 1 p.m. on Saturday, NYPD Commissioner Sewell reported that 17-year-old Jeremiah Ryan was arrested and has been charged for crimes related to the shooting and murder of the victims.
- Homicide detectives are investigating.

@labouroflove yes I just said this but we as a community fight each other for parking neighbors closed friend we pay so much rent taxes for the white man could enjoy themselves and be protected while we get robbed raped or killed let’s not talk about rats and led poisoning garbage dog Poop asthma cuz they done cut all our trees in our community all our youth need is a brave adults I did not have as a child good parents but their was always a teacher a neighbor a closed family friend who help me know the streets was never a option it has no love gangs are not their when u doing 16 years to life
