Police are investigating after a series of brush fires were set in Central Park Tuesday afternoon, officials said.
At around 1:30 p.m., firefighters responded to reports of brush fires near the corner of W. 107th Street and Central Park West.
Upon arrival, firefighters were able to put out three small fires which Citizen user video showed continued to send smoke high above the tree line.
According to a report from the NYPD, witnesses told police that they saw a man lighting the fires.
Detectives are investigating.
No arrests were reported.

It looks like a string of them towards the top of the park going east to west. Smoke was visible as individual plumes but now they’re more merged together. I hope they catch this arsonist!! 😡
