Police detained a suspect in Friday afternoon's fatal stabbing of a man in Bay Ridge, officials said.
At around 3 p.m. on November 26, police responded to a report of a stabbing near the corner of 99th Street and 3rd Avenue.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a 40-year-old man who had been stabbed several times in the body and requested medics to the scene.
EMS responded and transported the man to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The NYPD later reported that 56-year-old Vito Bauza had been arrested and charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
Homicide detectives are investigating.
