The 5 Borough Bike Tour is always a hot mess. Lots of people riding that aren’t used to being on a bike so they’re shaky and not aware of other cyclists. Lots of kids and yes…there are always riders who think they’re in the Tour de France. I did it twice. Will never do it again. I’m an avid biker and I’M afraid of the e-bikes and people riding in the opposite direction at top speeds. As a pedestrian, I look in all 4 directions before I cross the street because I’ve seen some nasty crap out there. Prayers to all involved.

@visitor absolutely! I’ve been riding on Randall’s Island instead. Last three times in Central Park and EVERY time, there was a nasty bike accident around E72nd st or so.
