Video captured by a Citizen user showed the trailer on its side blocking the right lane on the westbound side.

Another video by the same user then showed the two horses with their handler calmly standing several feet away.

Minutes later, another video showed the handler walking down the parkway with the two horses.

Firefighters at the scene confirmed there were no injuries to people or horses.

The horses were walked to the next exit to be safely retrieved.

@tnimk you mean the driver. ? He or she should be alright. I feel bad for the horse, might be scared.

OptimusPamAug 11 at 5:51 AM

Are the horses ok?!

Peachorse91Aug 11 at 5:22 PM

@goldie360 haha good one!

I am a horse person. I love the horses I ride. I’m surprised at how well they look after such an accident. Some people think this is funny and it’s not. Horses are more fragile than people may think. I’m happy the people are OK. They had an advantage — they saw what was happening before, during and after the accident — the horses on the other hand didn’t see it coming and did not know what was going on. These horses will have to be worked with because getting in a trailer again will almost be almost impossible. Imagine hitting a brick wall head on in the dark. Be well everyone.💖

@Deegity thankfully the horses walked right on the next trailer and were safely transported home. They were amazing and brave! Immediately seen by a vet and are a-ok.
