This was totally foreseeable - a tree fell during the thunderstorms earlier in the week and the city excavated all around the stump- even a fair bit underneath the street surface. It wasn’t all that apparent from a parking-car perspective but from the sidewalk it was clear that the street surface was likely unstable. I can’t believe the city didn’t block off the parking spaces there. It was negligent for sure.
@ukrainka Seems to be a regular occurrence along stretches of Riverside Park, especially between 103-110th. The pavement and cobblestones cave in regularly after periods of storms/downed trees. Disturbing
Roots from very old trees and flooding
Car insurance be like,
I’m sorry. WHAT. a sink hole!? Most likely from the rain we’ve had, yeh? 🙄
