At approximately 5:15 p.m., officers responded to 911 calls of a man shot near W. 45th Street and 7th Avenue, police said in an update.
Officers at the scene located a 21-year-old man who’d been shot in the back.
EMS transported him to a local hospital in stable condition.
Police said the victim was a bystander and was shot by an unidentified male suspect who fled eastbound on 45th Street toward 6th Avenue after the shooting.

He is expected to recover.
