Summary

A 27-year-old woman was fatally stabbed inside an apartment in East Harlem Wednesday night.

Police say that charges are pending against a 26-year-old man who also had stab wounds and is [reportedly](https://pix11.com/news/local-news/manhattan/woman-killed-ex-boyfriend-critically-injured-in-stabbing-nypd/) in critical condition.

At approximately 8:46 p.m., police responded to a call of a person assaulted with a knife inside an apartment at 409 E. 115th Street.

When officers arrived they found both individuals had sustained multiple stab wounds.

The woman was transported to an area hospital and later pronounced dead.

The man was also taken to an area hospital with wounds to his neck and chest. PIX 11 reported that he is in critical condition.

Police say that charges against him are pending.

According to reports, police believe the man is the ex-boyfriend of the female victim and launched an attack against her.

According to radio transmissions, an ambulance was requested for an officer injured. Police advised that the officer's injuries were not life-threatening.

We need more protection for our neighborhood. Deadass. Whenever crime happens in Harlem it’s “well what do you expect? It’s Harlem.” And never “what can we do to help the community?” All we get are expensive apartment complexes well above the income range for the main demographic of the people living here and repainted basketball courts......
