One person was killed and another critically injured when an elevator collapsed in Mott Haven early Wednesday morning, officials said.
At approximately 8:20 a.m., firefighters responded to a report of an elevator collapse near Bruckner Boulevard and Lincoln Avenue.
Upon their arrival, firefighters discovered that an occupied elevator had fallen into the basement of the building.
Medics removed two patients from the elevator.
The FDNY reported that one person was declared deceased on scene.
EMS transported the second patient to an area hospital in critical condition.

this is literally my worst nightmare. i have actual nightmares about this at least twice a week. so scary.
@espressopatronum President Chump in office was a constant nightmare.
That building still under construction. Those had to be workers injured. So sad, praying for everyone!
@TheObservantOne if it’s non union then most likely they are undocumented. Most of the time these workers are being paid off the book and that’s why some construction workers go non union to avoid child support , etc
