Summary

A man was killed and another suffered serious injuries in a three-alarm fire in an Upper East Side apartment building Wednesday morning.

At about 8:30 a.m., firefighters responded to reports of visible smoke on the second floor of the building at 1576 2nd Avenue.

When firefighters arrived, they confirmed a fire on the second floor.

Upon searching the building, firefighters located two victims with serious injuries on the second and fourth floors.

It's finally out. The firefighters did an incredible job. 100+ year old buildings like that don't always end up standing. I feel horrible for the deli that just opened a few months ago too in what was long an empty storefront

It's finally out. The firefighters did an incredible job. 100+ year old buildings like that don't always end up standing. I feel horrible for the deli that just opened a few months ago too in what was long an empty storefront
