A five-alarm fire broke out at a warehouse in Mariners Harbor Wednesday afternoon, injuring six emergency responders and engulfing the building in flames.
At approximately 2:30 p.m., firefighters were alerted to a report of a fire at a warehouse containing storage for several companies near the corner of Richmond Terrace and Mersereau Avenue.

Firefighters arrived and immediately began working to extinguish the flames.
According to an update from the FDNY, the blaze quickly escalated to a five-alarm fire. Approximately 200 firefighters and EMS personnel were working at the scene, with six ladder trucks spraying the warehouse with water.
All the workers from the building were accounted for and no injuries were reported among them.
Five firefighters and an EMT sustained injuries during operations. All were transported to area hospitals.
The fire was brought under control around 7:30 p.m.
