Summary

Police made six arrests last night in connection with a protest in Williamsburg.

On Wednesday evening, protesters gathered in response to the announcement by New York State Attorney General Letitia James that no officers would be charged for the March 2020 killing of Daniel Prude in Rochester.

Video showed a massive police response to the group, who were seen marching near the corner of S 5th Street & Driggs Avenue.

Police say that initially eight people were taken into custody for charges relating to graffiti, obstruction of governmental administration and disorderly conduct.

Two of the arrests were voided shortly thereafter.

Of the remaining six, police issued four summonses and two desk appearance tickets.

A 33 year old man was charged with obstruction of governmental administration.

A 29-year-old man was charged with resisting arrest, obstruction of governmental administration, disorderly conduct and walking in the roadway.

The remaining protesters later dispersed without conflict.

Tonight there was a gathering at McCarren park in protest of Attorney General Letitia James announcing a Rochester Grand Jury would not permit a trial for the police accused of murdering Daniel Prude. Prude was a black man suffering an apparent mental health crisis who was killed in police custody after they responded to the emergency. I could give 2 fucks about the trash in these comments but the lack of any explanation is annoying as fuck

I’ve never commented on this app and I hate commenting on things. Being a poc from a liberals arts college, many of these “woke” hipsters and their allies are just doing this for clout points amongst their friends and their social media. They really don’t care about problems in the poc world. They want to feel like the apart of a movement. They just want to cause disorder in this city which in reality has become their playground. The cops are out because of devastation in the city last summer. To the commentator of those videos. You should just move out of the city.

HarposRevengeFeb 24 at 9:02 PM
