Reported Jan 22 at 8:45 AM · Updated Jan 22 at 12:26 PM · 128.7K Viewed
Summary
A bomb squad called to investigate a suspicious-looking device in a Brooklyn Home Depot Friday morning determined it was a “hoax device” and that there was no threat to the public.
A Citizen user showed multiple NYPD units at the store on Hamilton Avenue in the Gowanus/Greenwood Heights neighborhood.
At about 9 a.m., firefighters confirmed that specialized police units were investigating a suspicious device in one of the store aisles.
The NYPD Bomb Squad ultimately determined, however, that it was a "hoax device" – an object made to look like a real explosive.
Police have no suspect information at this time.

Oh my god somebody planted a bomb at Home Depot!!! * everyone gathers around*
@ATobin01 exactly. I once came out of the subway by Herald Sq and saw the bomb squad moving towards a cooler left by door at Macy’s and people all standing around. What did I do? Walked quickly I n the opposite direction and said out loud “people, when you see the blob squad, you walk in the opposite direction, what’s wrong with all of you?”. No one moved except me 🤦🏻♀️
Stop with the stupid comments already. It's a scroll list of idiocy here.

One of the employees planted something suspicious, so they can close the store and have Friday off.. LONG WEEKEND 😟🤳
That’s Greenwood heights? When I read the notification, all I could think was, “when did they open a Home Depot in Greenwood?”
You a Newbie you have no say or Experience Just observe and stay quiet
