Summary

A woman suffered minor injuries after being pushed onto the tracks right as a train approached Thursday morning, police say.

According to NYPD Chief of Transit Kathleen O’Reilly, at around 8:30 a.m., the victim was waiting for the 5 train on the northbound platform of the 14th St - Union Square Station when she was pushed.

O’Reilly says that surveillance footage shows the suspect waiting for the train to approach before he pushed her.

The victim fell between the roadway and the tracks. How she made her way back up onto the platform is currently unknown.

O’Reilly said that the suspect was immediately taken into custody by NYPD Transit officers.
