According to officials, at around 6:10 p.m. Wednesday officers responded to a report of a man shot inside of 296 New Lots Avenue.
Officers arriving at the scene identified an 18-year-old man who had been shot in the chest.

Y’all get on here clowning about crime and deaths. You’re worried about snitches and your parents and children aren’t safe. WTF? This is truly heartbreaking. This young man is same age as my son. I can’t imagine the heartache his parents and family are feeling right now. Everyday my son leaves the house he’s at risk of losing his life and many times with no fault of his own. I pray everyday he makes it home safe. I will pray the strength for his parents and family. I wish these young kids stop killing and value their lives and others lives. RIP young man 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽😞
BLM is in response to COPS unjustly killing black people not WHITE people killing black people. I can see the confusion as most of the cops involved in these shootings are white. Not all though. Anyway, Don’t get it twisted and spark unnecessary angst, 75% of the BLM protesters are white. It’s systematic racism supported by policy and that needs to be addressed. Besides, this isn’t about BLM but Communities seriously need to stop turning a blind eye to violence. 99.9% of perpetrators in these instances don’t get caught meanwhile (apparently) everyone knows the victim and chances are the victim knew the shooter. Violence is violence doesn’t matter who it’s coming from or who the victim is. You either choose to accept it or try to change it. Right now it’s a whole lotta accepting (and joking) going on. Sad
