Vape Store Employee Killed in Shooting, Suspect Apprehended by Off-Duty NYPD Officer

An employee of an Ozone Park vape shop was killed in a Monday evening shooting following a dispute, police say.
According to officials, at around 6:15 p.m. police responded to 137-02 Cross Bay Boulevard for a report of an assault in progress.
Officers arriving at the scene identified an unconscious 26-year-old man who had been shot in the stomach.
EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police say that a 63-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the shooting.
The suspect had apparently shot the store employee after a verbal dispute.
The suspect also shot at a second store employee, but did not hit him.
Police say that an off-duty NYPD officer witnessed the incident and apprehended the suspect.
The investigation is ongoing.
