Police are investigating after a man and woman were fatally shot in the Financial District Monday morning.
At approximately 9:20 a.m., officers received a report of two people shot at Morris Street and Greenwich Street, a block away from the Charging Bull at Bowling Green.
Upon arrival, they found a 40-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man with gunshot wounds.
The woman was transported to an area hospital, where she was pronounced deceased, while the man was pronounced at the scene.
Police recovered a firearm at the scene. Officers at the scene said the incident appeared to be domestic in nature, and they were not actively searching for a suspect.
