Summary
A father and child were rescued from the cliffs at Fort Funston by SFFD crews Saturday morning.
According to Lt. Jonathan Baxter of the SFFD, at approximately 11:30 a.m. a man and his son were out for a walk near the cliffs at Fort Funston and decided to walk down towards the water.
After they had gotten nearly halfway down, they became stuck. The man promptly called 911 and gave exact directions to get to the operators.
Firefighters responded and spent almost an hour rescuing the two from the cliff. An Ocean Rescue team responded below as a contingency.
Crews were able to safely rescue the man and his son from the cliff without incident.
