- UPDATE At 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, police were called to a report of a male child floating in the water near a dock on Randall's Island. The NYPD Harbor Unit responded and were able to take the body ashore.

- Saturday afternoon, The NYPD Harbor Unit as well as the US Coast Guard and FDNY Marine Units are continuing to search for a 5-year-old boy who is missing after falling into the East River from Randall's Island.
- At approximately 2:40 p.m. FDNY crews were called to a report of a woman and 5-year-old boy in need of rescue after falling into the water from Randall's Island. The FDNY Marine Unit responded to the scene and began searching for the two people.
- By 3:00 p.m., the NYPD called specialized Harbor scuba units, police helicopters, and drones to scour the water for the missing people. Fifteen minutes later the woman had come out of the water and was attended by on-scene medics. Two other adults reportedly came out of the water a short time later, all in good condition.
- It's unclear if the adults were in need of rescue or had gone into the water to search for the child before rescue personnel arrived.
- The child was not found during the initial search. The crews continued to search for hours with assistance from the US Coast Guard.
- Personnel continued to search until 10 p.m. when their efforts were paused for the evening.
- The search for the missing boy resumed on Sunday. Divers and helicopters once again combed through the waters near Randall's Island.
