One Dead, 11 Injured in FDNY Involved Crash

Summary
One person died and another is in critical condition following a collision between an FDNY ladder truck, an ambulance, and a third vehicle, fire officials say.
According to officials, an ambulance was transporting a patient in critical condition and their family member from a location near Myrtle Ave & Throop Ave at around 12:49 a.m., Thursday.
A few minutes earlier there had been a report of a fire in a fifth floor apartment at 721 Willoughby Street. FDNY Ladder 102 was the second ladder company due at the scene.
At around 12:51 a.m., Ladder 102 was heading eastbound on Myrtle Ave when it and the ambulance collided with one another. The ambulance then collided with a third stopped vehicle with two civilians inside.
The patient who was being transported in the ambulance was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital. The family member in the ambulance with them was transported to a nearby hospital where they were listed in critical but stable condition.
All six FDNY firefighters in the ladder truck were injured. They were transported to a nearby hospital where none of them were listed in critical condition.
The two paramedics from the ambulance were transported with injuries of unknown severity.
The two civilians from the third vehicle were transported to a nearby hospital where they were listed in stable condition.
