Summary
One man was killed and one was injured in a shooting in Melrose in the early hours of Saturday morning, police say.
At approximately 1:30 a.m., police responded to a report of shots fired near E 158th St & Park Ave.
Upon arrival, officers located two people with gunshot wounds.
According to an NYPD official, a group of men were standing outside together when a man approached and shot a 23-year-old man in the head, and a 26-year-old man multiple times in the body.
Both men were transported to an area hospital, and the 23-year-old was pronounced dead.
