THURSDAY, 7:05 PM: Police responded to a 911 call of a pedestrian struck in a three-vehicle collision on 4th Ave & 101 St. Upon arrival, officers found a 66-year-old man lying on the roadway, unconscious and unresponsive, with severe head trauma. EMS responded to the location and pronounced the injured person deceased at the scene. An investigation by NYPD's Highway District's Collision Investigation Squad determined the man was struck by a 2011 Mercedes-Benz 350 sedan operated by a 19-year-old man. According to the investigation, the man was struck while attempting to cross 4th Avenue against the pedestrian traffic signal. The driver remained at the scene after the collision. There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing.
