11-Year-Old Girl Dead, Firefighter Injured After Midwood House Fire

Citizen user @bamentnyc broadcast footage of the flames, and the thick, dark smoke rising from the building. Firefighters arriving at the scene quickly transmitted a second alarm, requesting additional trucks and personnel to help combat the flames. Citizen user @vadym1 broadcast footage of firefighters working inside the house, throwing mattresses and other rubbish from the window. According to officials, one eleven-year-girl died as a result of the fire, though the exact cause of death is currently unknown.
