Armed Suspect Fatally Shot by Police

At approximately 12:42 p.m., Saturday, Citizen reported a man with a gun in the area of Sepulveda Boulevard and Tuller Avenue. About 10 minutes later there was a report of shots fired. It is unclear if this is in regards to officers or a suspect discharging their firearm. Citizen user video showed a heavy police presence at the scene. Officers requested that civilians vacate a nearby gas station, referring to “a lot of fire” over the radio. It was then reported that the suspect had been shot, and was taken into custody. He was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased. No officers were wounded in the shooting. The investigation is ongoing.
A heavy police presence is anticipated to remain in the area for approximately 8-14 hours as an investigation continues.
The suspect was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
EMS are on scene and treating one gunshot patient.
