Con Edison stated approximately 72,000 people were without power during the peak of the outage. The investigation into the blackout remains ongoing.

Firefighters reported power has been restored in the Times Sq-42 St Station on the 2 and 3 lines.

While most of the power in the area has been restored, firefighters reported electricity is still cut off between 34th St to 42nd St in the subway.

Firefighters rescued multiple victims from a stuck elevator on the 24th floor of a building. One person may be in need of urgent medical attention, however this is unconfirmed.

The FDNY reported the outages span from west 40th St to 72nd St and from 5th Ave to the Hudson River. Con Edison reported over 40k customers are affected. The MTA also reported limited service available on affected lines and advised taking the bus.

Firefighters and EMS personnel are continuing to assist people stuck in elevators.

According to the MTA, there are massive disruptions on the A, C, D, E, F, M, 1, 2 and 3 train lines in Manhattan.
