Wow. I think I saw him being escorted from far away. At least they got him.
LOS ANGELES (CNS) - A man allegedly carrying a gun was spotted by police in downtown Los Angeles today but fled into an apartment building, prompting an extensive search that eventually led to him being taken into custody. An officer was in the 500 block of South Main Street, near Fifth Street, about 3:25 p.m. when he saw two men in an argument, according Los Angeles Police Department Detective Meghan Aguilar. ``The argument escalated and the suspect produced a handgun and saw (the) officer, at which point the suspect ran into an apartment complex,'' Aguilar said. Officers surrounded the building, and a police dog was brought in to assist in the perimeter search, Aguilar said. The suspect, who had been described as being in his mid-50s, was taken into custody around 6 p.m. without further incident, Aguilar said. His name was not immediately available. Officers continued to search for the firearm inside the apartment complex, Aguilar said.
Traffic is starting move and clear out !
I live at the corner of 6th & Main. We were told by building management via an email blast to stay inside , that the entry to the building is blocked. When I went downstairs and talk to security they told me one person had been shot. I’ve lived down here for almost 10 years and I’ve never seen this type of police response. And we all know that there is a murder or shooting in this area at least once a week? Something is Fishy. Why isn’t this on the news?
