An MTA officer was hospitalized after he crashed and overturned into a backyard in Rosebank Friday afternoon, officials said. 

At around 1:30 p.m., firefighters responded to a report of a car crash near the corner of Clifton Avenue and Narrows Road.

Upon arrival, officers discovered an MTA Bridges and Tunnels Officer had overturned into a backyard and was injured. 

Medics quickly transported him to an area hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening. 

A shed and light pole were also damaged in the crash. 

Crews are continuing to work to remove the car. 

MTA Officer Injured After Crashing Vehicle Into Home

Police are responding to a report of a vehicle fire.

Firefighters on scene report that an injured officer is trapped in a crashed vehicle and have requested medics and rescue units. They are yet to comment on any signs of a fire.

Police requested additional units to block the traffic at Narrows Rd & Clove Rd.

Firefighters have clarified that the officer is not trapped.

Police are transporting the injured officer to an area hospital.

Firefighters stated that a Highway Patrol Car crashed into a building's rear.

Firefighters also requested Con Edison officials after the collision left an electric pole hanging mid-air.

Firefighters added that a shed in the backyard got damaged in the crash.
