Two hundred firefighters battled a 5-alarm fire at a mall in Downtown Flushing Thursday morning, FDNY officials said. 

Crews placed the fire under control at about 11:30 a.m., more than five hours after it broke out at 40-10 Main Street.

At around 6 a.m., firefighters responding to a 911 call found flames at the mall, which is home to approximately 30 kiosks.

The fire, described by FDNY Acting Chief of Operations Richard Blatus as "very stubborn", was eventually raised to a fifth alarm to request additional units and resources to the scene. 

In total, 200 FDNY members responded, Blatus said. 

Crews are continuing to operate at the scene, where fire marshals are investigating. 

No injuries have been reported.

Firefighters have received an unconfirmed report of smoke emanating from a commercial building.

A 911 caller has reported an unconfirmed incident at 40-10 Main St.

Firefighters on the scene report fire on the first floor of a commercial building.

Firefighters have transmitted a second alarm for the fire, meaning additional units are needed to bring the fire under control.

Firefighters advise they have one hose stretched to douse the flames.

Firefighters are also requesting two additional tower ladders.

According to officials, Flushing-Main St Station (7) is being evacuated due to a smoke condition. They advise that trains are being halted.

Multiple user videos show heavy smoke rising from the building.

Police have requested all available units to the scene to aid in crowd control.

According to a tweet from the New York City Transit,  7 trains are not stopping at Flushing-Main St in either direction. The first/last stop will be Mets-Willets Point due to smoke conditions at the station.

Firefighters report they have stretched multiple hoses to battle the flames. Primary searches conducted for possible injuries and extensions were negative.
