Residents of a Prospect Heights brownstone were evacuated Tuesday afternoon after an entry archway collapsed, officials said. 

At around 4 p.m., firefighters responded to a report of a structural collapse at 626 Carlton Avenue. 

Upon arrival, crews discovered a decorative archway had collapsed, compromising the entryway to the building. 

According to a report from the Department of Buildings (DOB), all tenants were given a Vacate order and were offered emergency relocation assistance by the American Red Cross.

A Partial Vacate order was also issued for the front yard of a neighboring property.

The DOB issued the property owner a violation for failing to maintain the archway and ordered them to install a sidewalk shed in front of the building.

Additionally, the DOB ordered the owner to hire a Professional Engineer to assesses the structure.

Firefighters are responding to a report of a structural collapse.

A 911 caller reported that part of the front of a building has collapsed.

Firefighters have advised that all occupants have been evacuated.

The address reported for this incident has changed to 626 Carlton Ave.

NYPD officials report there was a partial collapse of an exterior wall. Two units are standing by awaiting building department officials to determine the stability of the structure. No injuries have been reported.

Firefighters have advised that the building officials are on scene investigating.

According to a Department of Buildings official, a decorative stone arch above the front door of the building collapsed onto the front stoop. A structural stability inspection is ongoing.
