A 16-year-old boy was fatally shot Sunday night in the West Bronx, police said.

At approximately 11:36 p.m., officers responded to a 911 call of a gunshot victim at E. 178th Street and Valentine Avenue, in Tremont.

The victim was found outside an apartment building with gunshot wounds to his head and chest.

According to police radios, the victim may have been found inside the backseat of a cab.

EMS transported him to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No one has been arrested as homicide detectives continue to investigate. 

Officers were looking for two possible suspects on scooters seen heading north, according to police radios, but no suspect information has been officially released.

Citizen user video Monday morning showed the area closed off for a crime scene investigation.

Teen Fatally Shot Near Richman Park

Police have confirmed that a man was critically shot in a vehicle near Richman Park.

Incident reported at E 178th St & Valentine Ave.

The suspects were described as two men on scooters that fled northbound.

Police have requested additional units to assist with the search.

According to a police update, the victim has been identified as a 16-year-old boy. He was pronounced dead after being transported to the hospital by EMS. The investigation is ongoing.
