An 18-year-old man was fatally shot in East New York late Monday night, police confirmed.

At about 11:30 p.m., officers responded to a 911 call of a person shot at Hegemen Avenue and Linwood Street.

When officers got to the scene, they found the victim with a gunshot wound to the chest.

EMS responded to the location and transported him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

No arrests have been made as detectives investigate.

The man was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased, according to a statement provided by the NYPD.

Police have released additional units from the scene to accept other assignments.
