A man was killed in a Midwood shooting, police say.

According to officials, at around 12:20 a.m. Thursday police responded to a 911 call of a man shot in front of 1905 Avenue M. 

Officers arriving at the scene found a 24-year-old man lying on the ground with gunshot wounds to the chest.

EMS responded to the scene and transported the victim to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

There have been no arrests and the investigation is ongoing.
