Two firefighters and a civilian were injured in a fire at a Prospect Lefferts Gardens auto shop, officials say.

According to FDNY Deputy Chief Stephen Moro, the fire broke out at around 10:30 a.m. Monday at at 183 Empire Boulevard.

Upon arriving at the scene, firefighters found heavy fire in the front, rear and roof area of the 1-story building.

Moro described the fire as "very labor intensive" with "a lot of heat and a lot of smoke." 

Two firefighters were hospitalized with burn injuries. 

One other person was treated and released for a minor injury.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
