Citizen Good Vibes Challenge with Tank's Good News

Citizen is thrilled to introduce the Good Vibes Challenge together with Tank's Good News. For this challenge, we are encouraging users to broadcast uplifting stories to Citizen using the new Good Vibes feature.

Examples of Good Vibes include, but are not limited to:

  • Community fundraisers
  • Neighborhood cleanup
  • Finding a missing pet
  • Random acts of kindness
  • Hyping up a local business
  • A dog adopting a cat
  • Anything that makes your world a better place!

Launching today, and through the end of January, Citizen users can submit videos via the “Good Vibes” camera to participate in the Good Vibes Challenge. Five winning submissions will be broadcast to Citizen’s community of over 10 million users and receive a donation of $5K to their choice of charity from the list below:

Citizen Good Vibes Challenge with Tank's Good News 

NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.

Citizen Good Vibes Challenge with Tank's Good News (“Contest”) will start on 12/25/2021 at 8:00PM EST and end at 11:59PM EST on 01/31/2022 ("Contest Period"). 

ELIGIBILITY: The Contest is open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States and District of Columbia, 18 years of age or older. Employees and other workers, including temporary employees, freelancers, and independent contractors (and each of their immediate families (parent, child, spouse or sibling and their respective spouses, regardless of where they reside) and those living in their same households, whether or not related) of Sp0n, Inc. d/b/a Citizen (“Sponsor”),  Tank’s Good News, Tanks Good News LLC, and their respective parents, subsidiaries, affiliates, and advertising and promotion agencies, are not eligible to enter or win. Void where prohibited by law. The Contest is subject to all applicable federal, state and local laws. By participating, each entrant agrees to abide by these official rules (“Official Rules”) and the decisions of Sponsor, which shall be final and binding in all respects relating to the Contest.

HOW TO ENTER: To enter, during the Contest Period, download the Citizen app (the “App”) and use the “Good Vibes” feature to create and share a video that highlights a random act of kindness, community spotlight, or act of service in your community. (each, an “Entry”). At the beginning of your Entry, you must clearly state that your Entry is a submission to this Contest by saying: “This is my entry in the Citizen Good Vibes Challenge with Tank's Good News” or words to that effect. If you do not have an App account, establishing an account is free. All Entries must be posted during the Contest Period. Limit one (1) Entry per person per week. Multiple Entries from any one person in one week will be void. Multiple entrants are not permitted to share the same App account. Any attempt by any entrant to obtain more than the stated number of Entries by using multiple/different accounts, identities, registrations, logins, addresses or through any other methods, may void that entrant’s Entry and that entrant may be disqualified. Entries generated by script, macro, mechanical or other automated means or by any means which subvert the entry process are void. 

PROHIBITED CONTENT:  Entries must comply with the Terms of Use for the App (available at https://citizen.com/privacy/tos) (the “App TOS”).  Without limiting the foregoing, Entries may not contain, as determined by the Sponsor, in its sole discretion, any content that:

  • is sexually explicit or suggestive; 
  • is unnecessarily violent or derogatory of any ethnic, racial, gender, religious, professional or age group; 
  • is profane or pornographic, or contains nudity; 
  • promotes alcohol, illegal drugs, tobacco, firearms/weapons (or the use of any of the foregoing, or otherwise promotes any activities that may appear unsafe or dangerous; 
  • promotes any particular political agenda or message;
  • is obscene or offensive, or endorses any form of hate or hate group; 
  • defames, misrepresents or contains disparaging remarks about Sponsor, its products or services, or other people or companies;
  • contains copyrighted or trademarked materials owned by others, without the Entrant having obtained permission, to the extent permission is necessary;
  • appears to duplicate any other submitted Entry;  
  • contains any personal identification, such as license plate numbers, personal names, email addresses or street addresses; 
  • contains materials embodying the names, likenesses, voices, personal information or other indicia identifying any person (including, without limitation, celebrities and/or other public or private figures), living or dead, without permission; 
  • contains look-alikes of celebrities or other public or private figures, living or dead; 
  • communicates messages or images inconsistent with the positive images and/or goodwill to which Sponsor wishes to associate; and/or
  • violates any law.

Entry must be entrant’s own work product, may not have been previously published, may not have won previous awards, and must not infringe upon the copyrights, trademarks, rights of privacy, publicity or other intellectual property or other rights of any person or entity. 

By submitting an Entry, entrant represents and warrants that the Entry conforms to these Official Rules and understands that Sponsor, in its sole discretion, may disqualify the Entry for any reason, including if it determines, in its sole discretion, that the Entry fails to conform in any way to these Official Rules or the App TOS or otherwise contains unacceptable content as determined by Sponsor, in its sole discretion. 

USE OF ENTRIES/PUBLICITY GRANT: By submitting an Entry, each entrant waives all moral rights in and to the Entry. Without limiting the rights granted by entrant pursuant to the App TOS, all entrants hereby grant to Sponsor, its designees, successors, assigns and licensees an irrevocable, perpetual, unlimited, royalty-free, fully paid-up nonexclusive license to reproduce, distribute, display, perform, edit, modify, adapt, create derivative works based upon, or otherwise exploit the Entry and all elements embodied therein, along with entrant’s name, biographical information, likeness, performance, App profile name/picture, voice or image, in whole or in part, in any manner or media now known or hereafter devised throughout the world for advertising, promotional and other purposes, without further compensation, notification or permission. The entrants agree that Released Parties (as defined below) are not responsible for any unauthorized use of Entries by third parties. Sponsor has no obligation to make use of the rights granted herein.  

WINNER DETERMINATION:  Following the conclusion of the Contest Period, all eligible Entries received will be judged by a panel of qualified judges based on the following equally-weighted criteria: (1) community impact, (2) creative storytelling, and (3) execution (the “Criteria”). Each of the [five (5)] Entries that receive the highest scores will be deemed a potential winner. In the event of a tie in the judging, a tie-breaker judge will judge the tied Entries using the Criteria to determine the winning Entry. Sponsor reserves the right to not award one or more prize if, in its sole discretion, it does not receive a sufficient number of eligible and qualified Entries. All decisions of the Sponsor and judges are final and binding.  Sponsor will not reveal the judging scores for any Entry. 

NOTIFICATION: Potential winners will be contacted by Sponsor via the method used to create the App account. Sponsor will attempt to contact potential winners twice over a 48 hour period. Potential winners must reply to Sponsor within 24 hours of contact or risk forfeiture. Potential winners may be required to execute an Affidavit of Eligibility, W-9 Form, and a Liability and Publicity Release (unless prohibited by law), which must be returned within five (5) days of the date such documents are sent by Sponsor. Return of a prize notification as undeliverable, failure to sign and return requested documentation within the specified time period, the inability of Sponsor to contact a potential winner within the foregoing time period, or non-compliance with these Official Rules by potential winner will result in disqualification and, at Sponsor’s sole discretion, the prize may be awarded to an alternate potential winner. Prize will be delivered to winner via check, PayPal, Venmo, or other mutually agreed upon standard method of financial transfer. 

PRIZES: Sponsor will select five (5) winners. The prize for each winner is (1) Sponsor broadcasting such winner’s Entry to Sponsor’s entire community of App users; and (2) Sponsor donating $5,000 in the name of such winner to one of the following charities, to be chosen by winner:

Winners may not substitute, assign or transfer prize, but Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to substitute prize (or portion thereof) with one of comparable or greater value. Winners are responsible for all applicable federal, state and local taxes, if any. All prize details are at Sponsor’s sole discretion. Limit one (1) prize per person.

RELEASE OF LIABILITY:  By participating, each entrant agrees to release, indemnify, discharge and hold harmless Sponsor, Tank’s Good News, Tanks Good News LLC, and each of their respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, and advertising and promotion agencies, and the respective officers, directors, shareholders, employees, agents and representatives of the forgoing (collectively, “Released Parties”) from any and all injuries, liability, losses and damages of any kind to persons, including death, or property resulting, in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from entrant’s participation in the Contest or any Contest-related activity, the acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any prize and/or Sponsor’s use of the rights granted herein.

USE OF DATA.  Sponsor will be collecting personal data about entrants online, in accordance with its privacy policy.  Please review the Sponsor’s privacy policy at https://citizen.com/privacy/policy.  By participating in the Contest, entrants hereby agree to Sponsor’s collection and usage of their personal information and acknowledge that they have read and accepted Sponsor’s privacy policy.

GENERAL CONDITIONS: Released Parties are not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, damaged, inaccurate, stolen, delayed, misdirected, undelivered, or garbled Entries, comments, messages, or emails; or for lost, interrupted or unavailable network, server, Internet Service Provider (ISP), website, or other connections, availability or accessibility or miscommunications or failed computer, satellite, telephone or cable transmissions, lines, or technical failure or jumbled, scrambled, delayed, or misdirected transmissions or computer hardware or software malfunctions, failures or difficulties, or other errors or difficulties of any kind whether human, mechanical, electronic, computer, network, typographical, printing or otherwise relating to or in connection with the Contest, including, without limitation, errors or difficulties which may occur in connection with the administration of the Contest, the processing or judging of Entries, the announcement of the prizes or in any Contest-related materials. Released Parties are also not responsible for any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by App users, tampering, hacking, or by any equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest. Released Parties are not responsible for injury or damage to any person's computer or device related to or resulting from participating in the Contest or use of the App. Persons who tamper with or abuse any aspect of the Contest or App, who act in an unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner or who are in violation of these Official Rules or the App TOS, as solely determined by Sponsor, will be disqualified, and all associated Entries will be void. Should any portion of the Contest be, in Sponsor’s sole opinion, compromised by virus, worms, bugs, non-authorized human intervention or other causes which, in the sole opinion of the Sponsor, corrupt or impair the administration, security, fairness or proper play, or submission of Entries, Sponsor reserve the right at its sole discretion to suspend, modify or terminate the Contest and, if terminated, at its discretion, select the potential winners from all eligible, non-suspect Entries received prior to action taken using the winner determination procedure specified above or as otherwise deemed fair and appropriate by Sponsor. In the event of a dispute regarding Entries received from multiple users having the same App account, the authorized subscriber of the App account at the time of entry will be deemed to be the entrant and must comply with these rules. Authorized account subscriber is the natural person who is assigned the App account by Citizen. CAUTION: ANY ATTEMPT TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE THE APP OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THE CONTEST MAY BE IN VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES AND OTHER REMEDIES (INCLUDING ATTORNEYS’ FEES) FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT OF THE LAW, INCLUDING CRIMINAL PROSECUTION.
