Two People Shot After Dispute Involving Bat

Just before 9 a.m., a fight broke out between people in two cars near the 100 block of N Dearborn. A passerby was shot as crowds flooded the area for the city’s St. Patrick’s celebration.


One person involved in the dispute hit the other person’s car with a baseball bat. An occupant of the second vehicle then opened fire and struck a man walking outside Goodman Theatre at 180 N Dearborn.


Two cars fled the scene, according to local news.

Responding officers stated the victim was shot in the hand and transported to a hospital in stable condition.

Officers report another man walked into a hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg. Then, police located a black Nissan Altima with a bullet hole parked nearby with the same license plate as one of the vehicles that sped from the scene.
