A 3-year-old child was fatally injured after falling from an apartment building in Harlem Saturday morning, officials said. 

At around 11:15 a.m., police responded to an emergency situation at E 122nd Street and 3rd Avenue. 

Upon arrival, officers learned a 3-year-old boy had fallen from a 29th-floor window onto scaffolding 26 floors below. 

Medics pronounced the boy deceased at the scene, according to the NYPD.

Police are responding to a report of a person who may be in need of assistance.
