A 20-year-old man died after being shot after an attempt to purchase a motorcycle in Mott Haven went wrong on Wednesday.

At about 3:41 p.m., officers received a report of a man shot at East 144th and Exterior streets.

Officers arrived to the victim unconscious and unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head.

He was transported to an area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A gun was recovered at the scene.

There was an argument between the two parties, and the sellers reportedly returned and shot the man in the head.

The suspects then reportedly fled on Kawasaki motorcycles.

An investigation is ongoing.

Police report the suspects are four men last seen fleeing on two motorcycles and two dirt bikes, one described as a dark-colored gray and the other as white and purple.

The suspects were last seen northbound on Exterior Street according to the police.

EMS is transporting the victim to an area hospital.

Police advise the victim's age is between 20-25 years old.

An update from the NYPD  advises that a 20-year-old man was fatally shot in the head. EMS transported the victim to a hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
