A man was fatally shot in East Harlem Tuesday morning, officials said. 

Police responded to a report of a shooting near the corner of 103rd Street and 3rd Avenue just after 11 a.m. 

Arriving officers discovered the 26-year-old victim who had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. 

Medics responded and transported the victim to an area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. 

Homicide detectives are investigating. 

No arrests were reported.

ShotSpotter technology has detected possible gunshots. These devices pick up gunshots or similarly loud noises such as fireworks or backfiring vehicles.

A citizen user's video shows that police are on the scene.

Police on the scene have requested EMS. It is unknown if someone has been shot or not.

Police confirm that a person has been shot. The condition of the victim is unknown at the moment.

Police advise that the victim is in critical condiion.

The address reported for this incident has changed to E 103rd St & 3rd Ave.

Police have requested additional assistance to search for the suspect that fled northbound on E 103rd St.

Police advise the suspect is described as a man standing 5'8" tall, wearing light-colored pants, tan Timberland boots, a black hoodie, and a dark jacket over the hoodie.

According to an update from the NYPD, the victim was pronounced deceased after being transported to a local hospital.
