A man allegedly fatally shot a woman before fatally shooting himself during a standoff with police in the Monterey Hills Wednesday afternoon. 

At 3:45 p.m., police responded to a report of a shooting on the 3700 block of Oak Hill Avenue. 

Upon arrival, officers attempted to make contact with the suspect. LAPD Officer Mike Lopez told [KABC](https://abc7.com/murder-suicide-monterey-hills-lapd-investigation-barricade/11405063/) that the suspect then threatened to "shoot any officer who entered the home."

SWAT was requested to the scene. 

It reportedly took hours before they were able to enter the residence, where they found a man and a woman who had been shot.

Both were pronounced dead at the scene. 

An investigation is ongoing, which will determine if the same gun was used in both shootings.

Police have received an unconfirmed report of a person shot by a man.

According to an additional report, the suspect shot a woman.

Two additional units are requested to respond to the scene.

Police report the suspect barricaded himself inside a building.

According to police, a shot was fired inside the building.

SWAT is on scene attempting to make contact with the suspect.

Officers advise an additional gunshot was just heard from inside the home.
