Four firefighters were injured in a four-alarm fire on the Upper East Side Tuesday morning. 

At 6:15 a.m., firefighters responded to a report of a fire in a restaurant on the first floor of a five-story building at 1843 1st Avenue. 

FDNY Assistant Chief Michael Gala said when crews arrived, they located a fire in the back of the restaurant that had spread to one floor of the apartment building above it. 

A fourth alarm was called to request additional resources to the scene, and a total of 168 firefighters and EMTs responded.

Citizen user videos captured crews working to put out the blaze in the building that houses two restaurants, Domino's Pizza and Dragon One. 

According to [Pix11](https://pix11.com/news/local-news/manhattan/upper-east-side-building-fire-november-30-2021/), the blaze eventually spread to two floors of the apartment building. 

Gala said the ceiling of the first floor collapsed "at the height of the fire," injuring four firefighters.

EMS personnel transported them to area hospitals, where they are being treated for injuries that are not considered life-threatening. 

According to a tweet from FDNY Alerts, the fire was deemed under control by 8:19 a.m.

No additional injuries were reported. It is unclear if anyone was displaced as a result of the blaze. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation and FDNY Fire Marshals are at the scene.

According to reports by the FDNY, a second alarm has been transmitted for the fire on the first floor.
