One construction worker was killed and a second injured after falling from a site on the Manhattan Bridge Wednesday afternoon, officials said.

Police and medics responded to a report of a fall victim at the Manhattan-side of the Manhattan Bridge, near South Street and Pike Slip, at 1:59 p.m.

Medics declared one patient deceased at the scene.

At 2:22 p.m., medics responded to the Manhattan Bridge for a second fall injury.

The worker was transported to an area hospital, where he was listed in "serious but stable condition," a spokesperson from the FDNY said.

Two Injured in Construction Accident

Police have received a report of a person who may be in need of assistance.

Police are blocking traffic on the lower level of the Manhattan Bridge where two construction workers were injured in an accident.

Emergency personnel at the scene report one of the victims was fatally injured.

The second victim's injuries do not appear to be life-threatening, and has been transported to a local hospital.

According to an update from the official NYPD Twitter account, all lanes of the Manhattan Bridge have been reopened.
