Eight people were reported injured after a fire tore through the top floor of an apartment building in Van Cortlandt Village early Thursday.

At about 4:15 a.m., Citizen users filmed a heavy blaze in the upper part of the building at 130 Van Cortlandt Ave W, as crews arrived to the scene.

Firefighters called three alarms for a fire in an apartment on the seventh floor, involving about 150 firefighters.

Fire extended to the area above the ceiling and below the roof and extended to multiple apartments on the top floor of the building, the FDNY said in a statement.

The fire was placed under control at about 6:12 a.m.

Five residents were evaluated at the scene and three firefighters were hospitalized with minor injuries, according to the report.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation with FDNY officials.
