One firefighter was injured as a four-alarm fire damaged a row of one-story stores in Kingsbridge late Tuesday into early Wednesday.

The fire broke out at about 11:30 p.m. on the commercial strip on Bailey Avenue near West 238th Street.

It took firefighters nearly two hours with three requests for additional units to extinguish the blaze. In total, 39 FDNY units and 168 personnel responded.

One firefighter suffered a minor injury, according to an FDNY official.

Units at the scene determined that the damaged businesses included Bailey Deli & Grocery, Con Sabor Latino, New Yeung Hing, and Tilila.

According to [ABC News 7](https://abc7ny.com/bronx-fire-kingsbridge-blaze-fdny/11189690/), the fire broke out in one of the restaurants before spreading to two others and the deli.

The [Riverdale Press](https://riverdalepress.com/stories/four-alarm-blaze-guts-bailey-avenue-businesses,76471) reported that the deli and restaurant New Yeung Hing appeared to suffer the worst of the damage, while the damage to Tilila, Con Sabor, and a nearby laundromat was less clear.

Radio transmissions indicated that the fire originated in New Yeung Hing but the FDNY has not confirmed the source or cause of the fire.

Video captured by Citizen users showed heavy flames shooting from the rooftops of the stores.

The fire is under investigation.
