Police have arrested a 38-year-old woman from the Bronx in the fatal shooting of a 52-year-old woman in Park Slope Wednesday afternoon, police confirmed.

At about 1 p.m., police responded to a 911 call of a woman shot at St. Marks Place and 4th Avenue.

When officers arrived on scene, they located the victim unconscious and unresponsive, with a gunshot wound to the head. 

She was rushed to a hospital where she was pronounced dead.

On Wednesday night, police announced that they made an arrest in the case.

The suspect, identified as Latisha Bell, has been charged with second degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

The investigation is ongoing.

The suspect is reportedly a woman who fled on foot toward Bergen Street on 4th Avenue. The suspect's full description has not been confirmed by officers.

Officers are requesting transit police to canvass the nearby Barlays Center subway station for the suspect.

The suspect is described as a Black woman, approximately 5'8", with dreadlocks. She was last seen wearing a black beanie with white writing on it, a hoodie with a white string in the hood, black pants with white mark on right side, and black boots. She is armed with a silver firearm.

An updated report from the NYPD states that police have arrested and charged a 38-year-old woman in connection to the shooting.
