A four-alarm fire engulfed a restaurant and spread to several stores in Jackson Heights Thursday night.

Seven firefighters were transported to hospitals and treated for minor injuries. No one else was injured.

The fire broke out shortly before 11 p.m. at 37-54 74th Street in the basement of a restaurant that was part of a strip of one-story stores.

Citizen users captured heavy amounts of smoke filling the street.

When firefighters arrived on scene, they confirmed smoke in the basement and cockloft of the building and quickly raised the fire to a second alarm, assigning more units to the blaze.

Within 20 minutes, firefighters raised the fire to a third alarm. As the fire raged on into the morning, they raised it again.

The FDNY said about 160 firefighters were ultimately involved in the effort.

The fire was finally brought under control just before 4 a.m. after about five hours, and after spreading to "numerous" other stores on the strip, according to the FDNY statement.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
